A note from the founder

You may have noticed that there's been a little (little!) bit of a GAP on our Instagram and here on the site.

That's because the past year has been quite full as I've moved to Singapore and had a baby. The little one is beyond amazing, but it has meant my focus has been on other things such as researching prams and their million accessories, canoodling Her Royal Highness and taking thousands of pictures of her adorable smooshable face.

Now that we've settled in, and Little Fig is about four months old, I have a bit more time to "relax" and pick up on Autumn Afternoon.

It's actually been quite tricky getting into the autumn vibe as every single day here is 32 degrees, blinding sunshine and oh so humid. Think Monica in the Caribbean humid.

gardens by the bay autumn afternoon founderWhile excellent for the tan I don't want, it has made me miss autumn so much more. The fresh air, the cooler temperatures, everyone wearing greys and browns, boots, chunky knit, and grabbing hot chocolate (with cream on top? Of course, don't be stupid!) on the way home.

The saying you don't know what you've got 'til it's gone could never be more true. While I miss that European lifestyle so much, the virus has made me think back on those days when we were all so carefree.

I hope you and your friends and family are staying safe, and let's all pray that this will be over soon. I'm sure like you, I just want to be able to see friends, enjoy those park walks together and be able to watch TV without looking at all those exponential graphs.

The past year, being pregnant, having the baby, and the current situation has given me a new found appreciation for those that try to improve our lives.

I have some thoughts on where I'd like to take Autumn Afternoon, so do stay tuned, and if you have any questions about our gowns, get in touch with me on info@autumnafternoon.uk.

Meanwhile, ta-ta.
